AI Fluency:
Norm prefers all team members to be fluent in AI. Successful candidates actively use AI in their day-to-day work to support thinking, creation, and problem-solving. They use it to improve the quality and speed of their work and to continuously refine how work gets done end-to-end.
Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate and discuss their AI usage throughout the interview process, including concrete examples of tools, workflows, and outcomes. We look for practical, hands-on experience, not theoretical familiarity.
This Role
As an Associate in our Funds group, you will focus on the formation, negotiation, and management of investment vehicles by leveraging AI agents to enhance document drafting, comparison, and negotiation across fund agreements and investor documentation. You’ll work on fund formation, side letters, subscription agreements, and compliance documents while deploying AI tools that streamline these complex workflows.
This is a forward-looking role for Associates who want to be at the forefront of integrating AI into the delivery of high-quality transactional legal work.

What You'll Do
Fund Document Drafting: Use AI tools to generate, compare, and review limited partnership agreements, subscription documents, and side letters.
Investor Negotiations: Employ AI-driven analytics to benchmark terms, flag deviations, and prepare client summaries of key provisions.
Regulatory Interface: Coordinate with compliance teams using AI agents to ensure fund structures align with SEC, CFTC, ERISA and other applicable requirements.
Knowledge Management: Leverage AI tools to capture institutional knowledge, precedent clauses, and negotiation patterns across deals.
Collaboration with Tech: Work closely with technology teams to continue to make the deal process even more efficient using AI.
What We're Looking For
Core Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD); admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
3-6 years of experience in investment funds, investment management, or financial transactions.
Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
Curiosity and openness to using AI tools to improve precision and efficiency.
No prior AI experience required.
What Success Looks Like
30 Days: Learn the firm’s AI platforms and key fund formation workflows.
60 Days: Independently use AI agents to support fund documentation and investor negotiations.
90 Days: Lead AI-augmented workstreams across multiple fund formation matters, using AI to enhance quality, speed, and client service.
Compensation and Benefits
Base Salary: $270,000 to $410,000 per year
The range displayed in this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salary for this position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
