About the Team

Product Trust team ensures Postman is a safe and trusted platform for our customers. This team is responsible for building security features within the Postman ecosystem – from deciding what the product should look like to building and delivering it. Product Trust independently deliver solutions to address the security, compliance and governance needs of our customers.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for an exceptional Engineering Leader to build the next generation of our security offerings in the Postman product. You’ll be accountable for strategy, technical roadmap and architecture of the platform. You should work with the team members and be involved in their professional growth path with best alignment for organization goals. You’ll work with multiple teams within Postman overseeing and contributing to delivery and owning critical KPIs such as availability and uptime.

The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with attention to detail and a relentless drive for quality. They should be comfortable being very hands on and at the same being able to uplevel and provide high level guidance for others to execute. They should also be strong communicators who can influence other leaders. Finally, they should have strong industry knowledge and bring best practices from the broader industry to the Postman’s security and trust offerings.

What You'll Do:

• Engineering and Technical LeadershipProvide technical leadership for the architecture and help the teams build highly secure, scalable, reliable and performant systems that can cater to the needs of hundreds of millions of developersWork with Staff and principle engineers to to identify and review key technical designs to ensure consistency with architecture and support for the businessLead the team to deliver on multiple projects in collaboration with key stakeholdersBuild an operational center of excellence with effective observability, considerations for scale and performance and focus on quality
• Prioritization and RoadmapPartner with other engineering leaders within the org and product leaders within the companyHelp the teams prioritize work and create a balanced roadmap
• CollaborationWork closely with senior leadership to drive org design, set and execute the roadmap and influence the strategyCollaborate with cross functional teams to align on goals, drive engineering initiatives, and create broad organizational impactRegularly communicate progress, challenges, and strategic initiatives with senior leadership, providing updates on the team's success and security posture.
• People ManagementHave regular 1:1s with team members, understand what motivates and challenges them and craft a professional growth path keeping in best alignment with organization goals.Provide regular feedback, coaching and support for team members to create maximum impact.Build a high performance and cohesive team.

About You:

• 10+ years of experience developing complex, distributed software applications at Postman’s scale. Proficient with one or more programming languages (Javascript, NodeJS, Java)
• 3 years of experience in leading, mentoring, and managing a team of engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering career development.
• Strong experience with security offerings such as vault store, token scanning, cryptography etc.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects with a meaningful impact on the business
• Exceptional problem solving, design, and analytical skills
• Demonstrated experience designing highly scalable systems

At Postman we value in person collaboration. We are in office 5 days a week for all roles based out of our hubs in San Francisco Bay Area, Boston, Austin, New York City, Tokyo and London. For roles based in Bangalore, employees currently work in the office three days a week and will transition to five days per week by the end of the year. We were thoughtful in our approach which is based on collaboration and grounded in feedback from our workforce, leadership team, and peers. The benefits of our in office model will be shared knowledge, brainstorming sessions, communication, and building trust in-person that cannot be replicated via zoom.
