About the Role

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is looking for a Principal Data Center Facilities Development Manager to lead the delivery of colocation-based data center projects in Malaysia.

You’ll oversee construction execution across multiple projects, ensuring facilities are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Acting as a key interface between Oracle and colocation providers, you’ll coordinate design, construction, commissioning, vendor performance, and infrastructure readiness across critical systems including power, cooling, networking, and structured cabling.

This role is well suited to an experienced data center professional who combines strong project execution with technical depth, sound judgment, and the ability to manage complex stakeholder and vendor environments.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Lead colocation data center construction projects from planning through commissioning and handover.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, milestones, resources, and delivery risks across multiple workstreams.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for colocation providers, contractors, and key delivery partners.
  • Oversee quality assurance and ensure construction aligns with approved design specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct detailed site walks to assess progress, coordination, quality, and readiness.
  • Lead startup and commissioning activities and verify that critical systems meet design and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate tenant fit-out activities across design, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Oversee installation and readiness of power, cooling, networking, and structured cabling systems.
  • Identify delivery risks, gaps in mitigation, and develop practical corrective actions.
  • Review and maintain key project documentation, including design reviews, commissioning plans, and technical problem-solving papers.
  • Manage vendor and contractor performance, including contract compliance, scope, and delivery quality.
  • Partner with design teams to resolve construction issues and maintain alignment with approved plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement through provider evaluations, lessons learned, and process enhancements.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to capability building across the broader organization.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong experience in data center construction, facilities development, colocation delivery, or mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple construction projects, schedules, budgets, and delivery priorities.
  • Strong understanding of data center systems, including electrical, mechanical, cooling, networking, and structured cabling.
  • Experience with commissioning, startup, quality assurance, and construction readiness.
  • Strong vendor, contractor, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to identify project risk early and drive structured mitigation and resolution.
  • Strong documentation, reporting, and problem-solving capability.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating across design, engineering, operations, and external providers.
  • A continuous-improvement mindset with a focus on quality, delivery discipline, and scalable execution.

Why OCI

You’ll help deliver the physical infrastructure that enables Oracle’s cloud services to scale.

In this role, you’ll have meaningful ownership across the full data center delivery lifecycle, working with colocation providers and cross-functional teams to bring critical capacity online with speed, quality, and resilience.

If you enjoy managing complex infrastructure programs, solving delivery challenges, and helping build the foundation of cloud services at scale, we’d like to hear from you.
